Audio-Guided Yoga Warm-Ups

Yoga is both the activity and its own warm-up — but that's exactly the trap. Arriving cold at a vinyasa class and immediately moving through chatarangas and upward dogs puts the wrists, shoulders, and lower back under load before they're ready. We believe the five minutes before yoga are some of the most valuable in the practice, and almost everyone skips them. Our audio sessions for yoga preparation focus on wrist and forearm mobilization for weight-bearing postures, hip opening for seated and standing poses, spinal articulation from the base up, and breath calibration that sets the parasympathetic tone for the class.

Testers who practice yoga several times per week told us their wrists felt less compressed during extended plank and downward dog holds when they'd done our pre-session preparation.

Several described moving more fluidly into deep hip postures in the first half of class — the phase where tight hips normally limit the depth of practice. One instructor told us she recommends our sessions to students who complain about wrist pain, calling it "the simplest fix I've seen." Yoga teaches presence. Preparation is how you arrive present.
